Hi, thanks for visiting Kingdom voices...and Mich's page

Those who 'Hear' voices in their head are... mentally ill?.. insane?.. or something else..

Much has been said and written about people who hear 'voices' in their head, and up until this moment in time

there is no rational explanation..medical or otherwise for the sufferers of this phenomena.

Hi, its Mich here...

and I also hear 'voices' in my head as does my partner Heather.

but unlike her I dont attend the hearing voices group.

I have learned to cope in a different way, and medication plays a big part

in my life, because I also have schizo-effective disorder, sounds scary doesn't it,

but it is something I have learned to live with since I was a child, so like most other folks,

I have my moments when I could scream at the day because it's not gone my way,

however, I accept that it is just part and parcel of life, and... life happens.

There have been many times in my life when I have been free of my voices,

but like a bad penny they keep returning at unexpected moments and that is when

it is sometimes hard to deal with.

However I have found outside interests that have been good for me,

like the conservation group I am involved with, and from which I have learned so much.

Especially about what conservation itself actually is, and about the wildlife that inhabits this island of ours,

and no, I dont mean the kind you see on a wild friday or saturday night trawling our streets,

although that too is part of life as we know it.

Also music is a big part of my life and I am able to use that to help.

I dont use an mp3 player like Heather, or an IPod, but we have an

extensive collection of cd`s and are always adding to it.

I am also enjoying being part of our new online shop ..Orinique Arts

and it has has given me something else to concentrate on.

I have found out that looking for, and applying new coping strategies is what allows me to win

a lot of the battles against my voices.

What I also came to know, was that you dont have to have a mental illness to hear voices,

in fact in some cultures they are revered.

I must admit that like Heather they are something I dont revere, but are just part of my life I wish wasn't there.

I live with them sometimes well, and at other times not so well.

I hope if you are reading this you can relate to something I have written about

and please feel free to contact us at the site, we would really love to hear from you.
